Objectives

1.   Use evidence-based practices to guide health teaching, health counseling, screening, outreach, disease and outbreak

investigation, referral, and follow up throughout the lifespan (AACN VII:5).

2.   Use written, verbal, nonverbal, and emerging technology methods to communicate effectively (AACN I:4).

Directions:

Visit websites in relation to Nursing, Health Promotion, and Patient Education. Choose five websites that relate to one of  the Healthy People 2020 objectives.  Summarize five of the websites you visited on your “fieldtrip” by writing an annotated bibliography of up to five pages in length.

Each annotation must include the following:

1. Summary of website purpose, content, strengths or limitations and how you might use/or why you would not use the website in the future.

2. Explain how you know this is a reliable and valid website to use in your practice.

3. Each website annotation must include a systematic analysis of reliability and validity of information.

4. APA format must be used for the annotations.
