Student Library Research Award (SLRA): FAQs

SLRA FAQs

1. Can I submit a paper or project which was written as a group project?

No. Only individually-created projects (papers or presentations or Capstone projects) will be considered.

2. I'm an English major, but I am really proud of an Education paper I wrote this year. Can I submit the Education paper?

Yes! Any project created for any class will be considered for the 2025 SLRA. Regardless of the class discipline. And regardless of your major.

 3. Can I ask my advisor to write my faculty letter of support, instead of the course professor?

No. The letter of support must be written by the professor/instructor, who taught the class for which the project was created.

4. What if my submission is missing something?  Will I be advised?

If a submission is incomplete (missing the project, letter of faculty support, or application form), you will not be advised. Points from total score will be deducted for incomplete submissions according to the rubric.  It is up to you to make sure that all parts of the entry are submitted.

4. Can I submit more than one project for consideration?

No. You can only submit one project.  If you have written more than one paper or worked on a project, you must choose which is the best, and submit that one. Be sure that the project fulfills the eligibility criteria and is sent in with the application materials.

5. I submitted a paper last year, am I eligible to enter this year?

Yes.  You can submit a paper or project, every year you are enrolled as an undergraduate student at Felician.

6. I am a senior and graduate in May, before the award is announced .  Am I eligible to enter?

Yes.  Before you graduate in May, be sure to submit your entry.

7. I'd like to speak to someone about my application. Who should I contact?

You can contact the Library staff at library@felician.edu
